I had a request last week from a couple of my class members to
make some mens cards. Whether you are thinking about a card for a man’s
birthday, a simple thank you card or thinking ahead for Father’s Day in a
few months’ time, people always find it quite difficult to create cards
for men. I wanted to avoid the usual cars and boat themes, so it was
time to go back to the craftroom and create something that was simple,
yet effective, and came up with the following two cards.

I looked through my stash of stamps for inspiration and took out the retired Best Dad Ever stamp set for the first card. I  dont think you can go wrong with a few ties and find they are suitable for all ages.
Two of the ties were stamped in Night of Navy onto whisper white card and the third one (middle) was inked separately in Smoky Slate and cut out and decoupaged in the centre

The card was layered with Night of Navy, Whisper White and All is Calm  designer series paper (retired) and some Night of Navy stitched grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the centre

Early Expresso, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla cardstock was used for the next card and layered together.

Gorgeous Grunge stamp set inked onto Very Vanilla with Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake and stamped randomly to make a background.

Early Expresso stitched grosgrain ribbon was tied around the centre and the scallopped tag topper punch was used to make the centre label. The letters were die cut from the little letters thinlit dies using one of the pages from the Adventure Bound designer series paper stacks

A few punched stars and candy dots were added to complete the card.

I was quite happy with the finished results of the cards and feel that they are suitable for men of all ages and they both got a thumbs up from my ladies!!
I will be back later in the week to show you the birthday card I made for my husband.

Try and keep warm and dry!!
