This week we made two very contrasting cards. You may think I am ‘Quackers’ with the first card, but it is a simple design suitable for all occasions using the ‘Moon Lake’ and Work of Art stamp sets.
The outside edges of the whisper white were embossed using the simply scored scoring tool to make a frame and the duck image was stamped in the centre in memento ink. One of the ‘Work of Art’ stamps was stamped over the top in three different colours and a sentiment placed in the bottom corner
I have made quite a few sample cards for the classes using this lovely stamp set so will be sharing them over the next few weeks.
I thought I would try my hand at a shadow box card for the next card. The design for the card was taken from a couple of blogs: Julies Japes and Ricas Haven. The last blog shows you a step by step tutorial for which I am very grateful for them posting and sharing. There are other websites on Pinterest with similar designs.
At each class all the ladies were very daunted at the prospect of making the frame card but once I had shown them how to construct it, they found it wasn’t so difficult after all (also because I had made a template for them draw around and no measuring was involved!) The decoration around the outside was created from four strips of ‘Something Borrowed’ designer series paper which was mitred in the corners to look like a frame
We used the ‘butterfly basic’ stamp set bundle and framelit collection for decorating the centrebackground panel in Baked Brown Sugar and Sahara Sand.
