Graduation Day
We had a very enjoyable, sunny and proud family day yesterday. It was our eldest daughter's (Louise) graduation day. After graduating from York University in 2012, she has now completed a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) at Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln to become a fully qualified teacher. After spending a significant amount of time doing work experience in various schools, she starts her first full time Teaching job at Canon Peter Hall School, Immingham in September...

Hi everyone, welcome to my weekly blog. It's been a few hectic days since I last posted, starting with 3 days of craft classes (Scrapbooking class on Thursday, weekly Friday class at Keelby and my regular monthly class at Running with Scissors) I managed to find a little time for some relaxation with a charity night of Opera and song at Hull Holy Trinity Church on Friday evening and then an afternoon of exploring the delights of Brigg Garden Centre and the new Craft Cabin on Sunday This...

Annual Catalogue Launch Day 2014
I want to start by saying a big thank you to all the ladies that attended my 2 catalogue launch sessions today. Over the 2 sessions I had 12 ladies, who not only explored the new catalogue and made some fabulous cards plus a tag with the new products, but also enjoyed a delicious 'cup cake' made by my daughter Leanne. The day was very enjoyable, with lots of fun and laughter, even if we made the odd mistake, which always adds to that little bit of individualism to the cards....
Peaceful petals and flower shop
Just when we thought summer was here, the heavens open. I suppose it means we don't need to water the flowers/hanging baskets. On the theme of flowers, I have a few cards to share with you that were made in recent classes. The cards were made a few weeks ago before some of the products were put on the retired list. One of the stamps is the peaceful petal set but there are lots of new lovely products in the new annual catalogue which will drive your inspiration wild! The first card uses a...

Free standing pop up card
Below is the latest project made at my card classes over the last couple of weeks, including the class at Running with Scissors last Saturday morning. These are free standing pop-up cards, that fold flat into an envelope, but then provide a very stable and effective 3D card. At each class we made 2 different designs, based on the same principle. The base can be decorated in the same style as the main card design, further enhancing the 3D profile. We did some origami paper...
Iceland and Norway Cruise Part 2
Now I have managed to sort through Paul's 2000+ photographs, I am back with part 2 of our recent cruise. Day Eight and Nine - Reykjavik, Iceland The weather in Iceland was amazing and ideal for exploring a land of huge contrasts. Some of the landscape hasn’t changed for millions of years with snow capped mountains, whilst other areas have dangerously active volcanos, natural hot geyzers and Tectonic Plates (mid-ocean) that are still opening up by ~3mm/year. This, in turn, leads to...
