Butterfly basics easel desk calendar
Happy Christmas Eve to you all - Are you all ready for tomorrow? I think we are, I am just doing a few last minute preparations and then a bit of cleaning! For the last class before Christmas and a change from Christmas cards (hopefully they have all been sent) I thought we would make something to see in the new year... What better way than a 2016 calendar, that could also make a last minute extra Christmas gift! The calendar we made was an easel style desk calendar, with a small...
Cozy Christmas diorama card
The last Christmas card we made in the class for this year was a special diorama card. I love to make diorama cards as they fold flat to go in an envelope but also will stand up to take pride of place on a mantle piece or card display! You can even add a battery tealight inside to light up the scene. There were a lot of elements to making this card with lots of die cutting, embossing and punching but we were all very pleased with the final result The second card was a quick 10 minute...
Sleigh ride luminaire
Last week I published a post on the vertical wall Christmas decoration/banner, using the winter wonderland papers, which we made in our Saturday afternoon class a few weeks ago. The second project we made in the class was a beautiful luminaire decoration, created from both the Hearth & Home and sleigh ride framelits. The decoration allowed us to install a battery 'flickering' tea light (supplied), giving it a real warm Christmas feel, without the risk of fire..... We die cut 4 of the...
Winter Wonderland NOEL banner – using hearth and home framelits
A few weeks ago I was inspired by a frame card I saw on Amanda Bates website The Craft Spa. I loved the idea of using the winter wonderland papers and thought I would have a go and turn her card into a vertical wall Christmas decoration/banner. I made one for myself and then was requested by my lovely ladies to make one in class. For some groups we completed it in one session and for others in 2 shorter sessions over 2 weeks. As always, now we are in the festive mood, it turned...

More techniques using Woodland Embossing folder and a tunnel card
For the first classes after my holiday I decided to try out some more new techniques using the woodland embossing folder. If you look closely at the white and blue glittery card on the right, you will see that the woodland effect is embossed and glittery. 'Versamark' ink was applied on the embossing folder prior to running it through the 'Big Shot' and then we applied 'heat and stick' powder to the embossed image and applied heat. Whilst sticky, we then applied dazzling diamond glitter....

Woodland embossing folder meets lovely as a tree
The last class I prepared before my holiday is featured below. I even took some craft items with me to complete on the cruise, thinking I would have plenty of free time. How wrong I was, it never even came out the bag and even caused some complications at Xray, with the bottle of glue I left in.... I will feature some of the holiday in my next blog. For the first card we used the woodland embossing folder again, but this time after inking it all over with the soft sky...
