Its that time of the year when families normally come together to enjoy each other's company, reflect on the events of 2017 and start thinking about the new year ahead. If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful time filled with fun, laugther and lots of love. Christmas is also a time when we remember our loved ones that are sadly no longer with us. Whatever you have planned I hope the festive season passes peacefully and the start of 2018 brings you everything you wish for. To...
Year of cheer table gift decoration
I held my last card classes for 2017 last week. I have really enjoyed teaching my ladies this year and look forward to 2018 and doing it all again. If you would like to join one of my card classes let me know. I run two classes on a Monday, one on a Friday afternoon, a monthly class on a Sunday morning and the occasional Saturday workshop. Details of class dates are in the side bar. I made each one of the ladies a Chocolate Stirrer treat bag as a little thank you gift...
Hometown greetings edgelits tealight card
This is another example of how effective the 'Hometown Greetings edgekits' can be used to create a stunning tealight/luminaire card. Traditionally gold and silver were the colours used mostly in Christmas decorations, so a simple gold and pure white colour scheme, always seems to work out well. Lots of labels framelits were used on two of the panels to cut out a decorate hole and then vellum heat embossed with white stars attached to the back with the die cut village scene so that when...
Merry Patterns in the woodland
A few weeks ago, I was asked by several of my class ladies, if I could create something using the beautiful reindeer from the recent Hostess set called 'Merry Patterns' and came up with the following card. I don't think the photo's always show off the 3D effect of the cards, but even my husband Paul commented on how effective the techniques we used on this one, were. The 'Soft Sky' ink pad was directly applied to one of the faces on the inside of the embossing folder and the trees were inked...
Northern Lights technique with hometown greeting edgelits
There are quite a few cards around at the minute using the 'Northern Lights' technique so I thought I would have a go at some myself. Here are the ones I created, again using the hometown edgelits dies! with the top card below featuring in one of my classes :- Inks used Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Peek-a-boo Peach Inks used Lemon Lime Twist and Night of Navy Same colours as the top card using the decorative ribbon border in silver foil down the two sides
Hometown Greetings Bridge U Fold Card
I saw this card HERE on Amanda's blog at The Craft Spa and was so impressed by the 3D 'pop out' effect, and that it folds extremely flat for easy storage and posting, I just had to make one. My husband, Paul, thinks it would look great with some LED bulbs between each layer and would then remind him of the old light-up Christmas village, that used to be a key feature in most homes at Christmas. If I manage to get a spare couple of hours over the next coming week I will try and create one
hometown edgelits bauble card
Another card using the hometown edgelits to create the following bauble card! The sentiment was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto the white card and then run throught the big shot with the softly falling embossing folder The die cut church scene was glued to a separate piece of night of navy cardstock and a circle cut out of it using one of the circle stitched shapes this was then backed onto a die cut scallop circle and placed on to the embossed white card using 3dimensionals. The card was...
Decorated christmas lamppost
A lampost as a centre piece on any card, particularly when its black on white, creates a very simple lighting effect. The lamppost is from the Christmas Lamppost thinlit dies and at the moment it is on the retired list at a reduced price of £22.10 (144675).This is a last-chance item and is available while supplies last. After 2 January 2018, it will no longer be available. The floral decoration in the centre is created from a variety of different floral dies and punches...
winter wonder embossing folder with stitched shapes
Hello and welcome to my blog today. The following card is very easy to make and ideal for those who are wanting a batch of cards to make in a short space of time The winter wonder embossing folder was partially embossed onto the white card. A couple of stitched shape circles, two snowflakes and one of the swirly scribbles were die cut in silver foil and white coloured card and used to decorate the card.
hometown greetings meets festive flower punch and pretty pines
A few weeks ago, we continued our theme of making Christmas cards, using the 'hometown greeting edgelits' dies. These have been out on my desk permanently recently, since I have found them to be a very universal set, easy to use and create stunning cards. The 'quilt top embossing folder' creates a fabulous background for any project and looks particularly stunning on white card. The hole in the centre of the card was created by die cutting a circle and then running it through the embossing...
