Hi everyone, I can’t believe another week has past since I last posted on my blog.  A lot has happened during this week. Firstly I celebrated my birthday last Saturday whilst we were still away. I had a lovely day. We travelled by car from France to the heart of Switzerland to Lake Lucerne during the day. To break up the journey we stopped off at many quaint and scenic areas along the way, starting with Eguisheim in France.

The
hotel we stayed in was a great location surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountains
and lakes, near a place called Vitznau.  The room was better than we expected (I think we may have been upgraded as it was my birthday), it was like an apartment and had its own large balcony/verandah with tables, chairs and sunbeds. The view over Lake Lucerne was stunning.

We stayed in Switzerland for three nights and during that time we went on scenic drives, travelled on cable cars and took a trip on a cogwheel railway to the top of Mount Rigi, one of the highest mountains in the area. The weather was warm and sunny at the bottom (21 degrees), but once we had reached the top after about 35 minutes, the temperature plummeted down to about zero degrees, however the sun was still shining but was rather windy and we were surrounded by snow and occasionally had our heads in the clouds!

The drive back to Basel Airport on Tuesday was equally as stunning. We had another few stops on the way including  Interlaken and Spiez.  It is an absolutely beautiful country and we will certainly be going back to explore it further.
Anyway it is now back to reality, clothes washed, ironing done, Paul back to work and I’m back in my craft room preparing for more classes.
Happy Easter x
