Hi there, I have finally returned from my holiday around Southern Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand on an 18 day cruise on the Radiance of the Seas with Royal Caribbean to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary
It was an experience we will never forget for a number of reasons. We met some lovely people, enjoyed fabulous food and saw some beautiful scenery and places. However, we and the ship weren’t prepared for the cold, wet and windy weather we received with limited activities to suit all ages. In all the 24 days of being away, we only saw the sun on 3 days!!!
One of the highlights of the trip was visiting a wildlife park in Tasmania where you could get close to the koala bears and kangaroos.

Our next stop was New Zealand, visiting the fjords in Milford Sound. These are the fantastic views we woke up to seeing outside our balcony at 7am
The ship was originally scheduled to stop at Christchurch, but because of the recent earthquake, the whole area is still devastated so we docked at a beautiful town called Akaroa 1 1/2 hours away. From here we took a small boat trip around the coast to see wild dolphins and penguins swimming in the sea and  fur seals

In the afternoon we visited a penguin sanctuary where we saw adult  penguins and their babies nesting

The last morning of our cruise,  5.30 am in the morning sailing past Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. What a spectacular view!
