Hello there, I have finally managed to get round to do some blogging.  August has been a very hectic month for us this year.  Firstly 3rd August was my niece’s 16th birthday and all the family gathered for a party.  Here is the card I made for her.

I used a combination of melon mambo, whisper white and basic black colours along with the create-a-cupcake stamp set  and co-ordinating punch to create the handbag and sentiments. The punches I used were Scallop trim border, scallop circle, large oval and scallop oval with just a tiny piece of melon mambo scallop dots ribbon for decoration
In the evening, we had a hot air balloon ride booked from York Raceground. We were very apprehensive on whether the ride would take place and if vertigo would kick in and but once up in the air it was very tranquil and all our anxieties were forgotten. There were a total of 3 balloons travelling that evening. Our balloon held 16 people.

We could see over all of York and over the course of an hour we
travelled 9 miles. It was a very exciting and exhilirating experience
and not to be missed.
It was my daughter’s 19th birthday on 19th August and as she enjoys making cupcakes as a hobby I made her this birthday card using the ‘crazy for cupcakes’ stamp set.

I love the Soft suede and pink pirouette colour combination. The new edgelit dies and embossing folders were used to create the centre band. The cakes and cake stand were stamped onto a framelet label and coloured with markers and dazzling diamond glitter. The white layer on the bottom was created from the scallop square Bigz die and holes were placed around the edges with the piercing tool. White organza ribbon was tied in a bow

Our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary was on 22nd August and we booked a last minute holiday to Turkey . It was a very relaxing and enjoyable week with lots of lovely sunny weather, something that we haven’t seen here for quite a while!  We went to a local restaurant on the evening and enjoyed a fantastic steak diane meal with all the trimmings.

I was spoilt with lovely food, wine and some beautiful jewellery and was also presented with beautiful bouquet of red roses. We were travelling home the next day and didn’t want to leave the roses behind but we managed to wrap them up in our suitcase and they survived the journey home!!
Here is the card I made for my husband. I wanted to create a special and unique one, it is a diorama card

I used one of my favourite items out of the summer mini catalogue, the labels collection framelit dies to cut out the shapes and stamped and embossed in silver ‘to be loved’ in the centre of one of the die cuts. Ittby bitty flowers were punched for decoration with a pearl placed in the centres and modern label punch for the sentiment. The card layers were embossed with polka dots embossing folder

The celebrations haven’t ended yet.  We are planning a party at the weekend for our family and friends so I will be back later to share the event with you
