We used the large detailed swallowtail butterfly for our cards this week. This is one of the biggest stamps I have ever seen!  And I think it’s also one of the prettiest.

I have made this card using vellum and naturals white card stock. The swallowtail butterfly and one of the butterflies from papillon potpourri were stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The images were coloured in using Stampin Up markers on the back of the vellum using marina mist, lucky limeade and daffodil delight.

The large piece of vellum was attached to some naturals white cardstock. The script from the French Foliage (unfortunately  now sold out) was inked in soft suede and randomly stamped on the front of the white card with a few of the scattered dots in so saffron.

Some bashful blue grosgrain  ribbon (retired) was tied around the card for decoration and the sentiment is from Made for You stamped in marina mist

Another version of the card in A5 size, which is just as stunning.

For the next card the butterfly was inked with So saffron ink pad and with some finger daubers, some pear pizzazz and calypso coral were dotted over it before stamping onto some white card. Each image was unique.

Part of the butterfly was cut out and placed over designer series paper which was layered onto some pear pizzazz card.

Dotted scallop border punch in so saffron was used to make a decorative strip and a bow with so saffron taffeta ribbon

You may not be able to see it in the photo, I put some sparkle on the butterfly image with some dazzling diamonds glitter and two rhinestones were placed on the antenna.

I just love the versatility of the swallowtail stamp. as you can see from the photos you do not need to stamp the whole image, just partly stamped is very effective.
