It’s now the end of August and I’m keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed, that the weather forecasters have got it right and we are heading into an Indian Summer!
This post is from a few weeks ago and my last monthly class at Running with Scissors. We had a great morning making this lovely ‘waterfall card’. Thanks Tracey, as always, for being a great host and providing ample tea and coffee etc.
The card is made from half a sheet of A4 and when the ribbon is pulled down on the tag, it provides a waterfall effect and reminds me of a watermill wheel and paddles!
In the second half of the class (a very full 2 hours) we made a matching box, which is perfect if you want to give a little gift to go with a card. I gave one recently and filled it with homemade fudge and coconut ice, yummy.
The stamp sets used are the Stampin Up! Gorgeous Grunge, Swallowtail and Papillon Popourii The latter has 7 detailed butterflies of different designs. The punched out butterflies were die cut from the Beautiful Wings embosslit folder and cuts out 5 different sizes of butterflies at the sametime and is great value at £9.95. We used a colour combination of Pink pirouette, wisteria wonder and crumb cake.
The card had a top fold, so easily stands up for display and allows the inside to be decorated. I used a simple coordinated design, as below.

I am now busily planning my next monthly classes which will be using some of the products from the New Autumn/Winter catalogue with a Christmas theme. I know it’s only September but the weeks are creeping by and there are many of you who would like to get started on making their Christmas cards early! I am also organizing a couple more classes at my home over the next few months for a Saturday afternoon which will include a christmas Stamp-a-stack and Baby Picture Frame. More details to follow.
