August was a month of special birthdays and celebrations. We had two 50th birthday’s, our niece’s 18th, our daughters 21st and our wedding anniversary.
In this blog I have included the card I made for our niece Laura and the anniversary card I made for my husband (Paul bought one as usual!)
On both cards I used a Die’sire create-a-card die, which I borrowed from my good friend Tracey… Thanks Tracey. Although not a Stampin Up! product, so I can’t supply direct, it is a great addition to anyone’s craftroom shelf.

18th Birthday Card – The die was rolled through the big shot twice, once to cut and once again to emboss the intricate details in whisper white. This was layered up 5 times in total with pink pirouette and melon mambo cardstock and then decorated with flowers stamped and punched from the Flower Shop and petite petals stamp sets.

I added a little silver glimmer card for the leaves for that extra sparkle.

The image in the centre is from the ‘in this together’ stamp set and coloured in with the cherry cobbler blendabilities

Anniversary Card – The anniversary card was done in a simple two tone colour (whisper white and crumb cake) which then contrasts with the crumb-cake edging on the sentiments. Both cards were finished off with gems, to add a final touch.

The retired stamp set ‘Hearts a Flutter’ and matching framelits were used for the centre image

Both cards are 8″x8″ in size, which I have not created before but I found using the die made them quick and easy to create.

In my next blog, I will share the 21st card and a couple of photographs from my daughters special day….
