As a change from the usual birthday, anniversary and christmas cards, I was faced a couple of weeks ago with a new challenge, the 1st birthday of my daughters best friends baby. With it being her first birthday (she is so cute and was walking well before 12 months) I wanted to include the traditional ‘ONE’ and also her name ‘ISLA’.
As
a background, I decided to create the card in the shape of a number
one. I didn’t have a large enough die cut or template, so I had to draw
it freehand

I kept the design simple by covering the card with designer series paper, die cut hearts, butterflies and flowers and complemented it with a couple of brads and rhinestones.
The letters of her name (to create a personal touch) were cut-out using
the Stampin Up! ‘Little letters thinlits Dies’. These dies are a great
addition to any craft room and are used in the very versatile ‘Big
shot’.

The card was very well received by my daughters friend and looking forward to the challenge of creating templates for 2, 3 and 4!
Just a reminder there are a couple of places remaining at Running with Scissors this Saturday morning, 10am to 12pm to make the christmas box frame. This will make an excellent gift or keepsake, or you could even take the picture out of the frame and turn it into a large 8 x 8 christmas card. Please contact me by 6pm Friday evening if you would like to reserve your place
