In the run-up to Christmas, I have a challenge for my weekly classes to do a different theme each week. We started making christmas cards at the Friday class in Keelby at the start of October and so far the feedback has been excellent.

The 2 cards below are the ones we made last week. Both were based on a ‘home’ theme and features houses. The first actually reminds me of a place we recently visited in Norway.

Card 1

Part of the whisper white card was masked with a piece of torn paper and the top half was sponged in soft sky to differentiate between the sky and snow on the ground. The house was stamped in Memento, coloured in with blendibilities and cut out with the matching framelits and decoupaged onto the card. I have added a couple of the snowflakes from the tub of frosted sequin embellishments and some silver satin ribbon

Card 2

We used the acrylic block technique for the sky background in this card before stamping the rest of the images in Memento. The stars were stamped in Smoky Slate. (I apologise one of the stars appear smudged, the background couldn’t have been completely dry before stamping!)
