Hi from France,
I never thought I would be making my Christmas cards this year in the peaceful surroundings of the french countryside in one of the main wine regions of Alsace. Well I am and have converted Paul’s hotel room into a craftroom for that purpose. I also have the added advantage of the hotel being a SPA, to provide a well deserved break.

The main reason for coming here, was not the wine (although I have sampled a  few) but the fabulous Christmas markets I had read about and of course for Paul to visit and work at the Cristal site in Thann for a week.

This trip was on the back of a very hectic craft weekend, starting with a card class on Thursday at The Craft Cabin in Brigg and  my weekly class on Friday afternoon where we made the horizontal slider card below.

The slider can be pulled out revealing a different theme or picture telling a story!

and then revealing a sentiment at the end!

On Saturday I had the class to transform the muffin tin ,shown in a previous blog, into a reusable advent calendar. Using magnetic colour co-ordinated card, each muffin space (and surprise chocolate or gift) was masked with a Christmas symbol and unique number.

We even got to sample some dates (some for the first time) which Paul had brought back from Saudi Arabia.

The photo above shows the chocolates underneath the coloured magnetic covers!

I will be back soon with some more projects to share
