Hello everyone, I’m so engrossed in making cards for the festive season, that I am along way behind in my posts. These are two cards we made in the classes a couple of weeks ago, but it seems a distant memory. We have made new cards every week since and I am now putting the final touches to the Christmas stamp-a-stack sessions.
This card uses the sleigh ride framelits, which are one of my favourite items from the seasonal catalogue. They just add that finishing touch to any snow theme. If you have spotted it, the sleigh is actually being pulled by a horse, which makes these framelits a little special and can be utilised for all seasons.
I teamed these up with the lovely as a tree stamp set to create this card. Half of the trees were carefully heat embossed with silver and the other half with white to create the snow scene. I make no excuses for using this stamp set regularly, it is so versatile.
A separate tree was embossed in white and fussy cut around and decoupaged with 3D foam pads. It is not very clear from the photo but the trees have also been glittered
We used the acrylic block technique for the background on the second card. The acrylic block was coloured randomly with two different coloured marker pens in rich razzleberry and tempting turquoise and spritzed with water before stamping onto a piece of card to create fabulous unique background. We dried the artwork with a heat tool before placing it behind a square aperture with one of the sleigh ride framelits.
A simple but effective card which can be made very quickly
Now back to stamp-a-stack preparations, the first class is later this afternoon. This class is extremely popular and spaces filled up very quickly so I added an extra date for next Saturday 24th at 1pm. Due to a cancellation there are two spaces remaining, please contact me as soon as possible if anyone would like to join us for a fun afternoon of crafting
